100 North Korean Soldiers Killed, 1000 Wounded In Russia-Ukraine War

Following an intelligence briefing South Korean official on Thursday stated that around 100 North Korean soldiers have been killed and 1,000 soldiers have been wounded in the Russia-Ukraine war while supporting Russia.

South Korean MP Lee Sung-kwon has attributed the high casualty rate to the lack of experience of the North Korean troops in open terrain and drone warfare. He further stated that there is an indication that North is still preparing for additional deployment.

‘A comprehensive strategic partnership’ treaty including a mutual defense pact has also been signed between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and  Russian President Vladimir Putin during the latter’s visit to Pyongyang in June.

It has been alleged that Pyongyang has sent more than 10,000 containers of artillery rounds, and anti-tank rockets along with rocket launchers and mechanized howitzers. However, neither North Korea nor Russia has acknowledged these allegations.

Condemning the recent statement by Washington against ties between Pyongyang and Moscow North Korea on Thursday declared its ties with Russia to be very effective in preventing US vassal forces. Further, it rebuked the statement by the European Union, the US, and the nine countries as misrepresenting and defaming the nature of normal cooperative relations between North Korea and Russia.
