Prayagraj is gearing up for a spectacular display of drone technology during the upcoming Mahakumbh 2025. The event, which takes place every 12 years, will run from January 13 to February 26, 2025. As part of the celebrations, a stunning drone show will illuminate the evening skies above the Sangam Nose area, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers converge.
According to District Tourism Officer Aparajita Singh, approximately 2,000 drones will be deployed to recreate legendary tales from ‘Prayag Mahatmyam’ and the Mahakumbh. The show will bring to life iconic events such as the Samudra Manthan (ocean churning) and the emergence of the Amrit Kalash (nectar pot), crafting a magical visual narrative in the evening skies.
The drone display will be a unique experience for pilgrims and locals alike, highlighting the religious and spiritual significance of Prayagraj. The show will take place above the Sangam Nose area, a site of immense cultural and spiritual importance. With its stunning visuals and immersive storytelling, the drone show promises to be an unforgettable experience.
Preparations for Mahakumbh 2025 are in full swing, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath envisioning a grand and spiritually elevating celebration. Development and beautification work is underway across Prayagraj, with temples, Ganga ghats, parks, roads, and flyovers being restored and upgraded.
In addition to the drone show, Mahakumbh 2025 will feature a range of innovative attractions and activities. Visitors can enjoy floating restaurants, water activities, hot air balloon rides, and laser light shows. The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is working tirelessly to ensure that the event is a resounding success, providing a unique and unforgettable experience for all who attend.
