An explosion at a fire cracker manufacturing facility in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, on Saturday claimed the lives of at least six workers.
The explosion, which demolished at least one room and caused the deaths, is thought to have occurred when chemicals were being mixed. Sources claim that the event occurred at Sainath Fireworks, where employees were making firecrackers when the explosion occurred.
Fire and rescue workers from Aruppukottai, Sattur, and Virudhunagar quickly came to the site and brought the fire under control. Six men’s bodies have been found so far, but their identities are still unknown. The Government Medical Center will receive the bodies.
