PM Modi Tops Global Democratic Leader Approval Ratings Again

PM Modi Emerges as the World’s Most Popular Democratic Leader

In a significant testament to his global standing, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again secured the top position in the Morning Consult Global Leader Approval Tracker. According to the latest survey conducted by the US-based business intelligence firm Morning Consult, Modi enjoys a remarkable 75% approval rating, placing him firmly at the top of the list of the world’s most trusted and admired democratic leaders. This data, gathered between July 4 and 10, 2025, reflects the sentiments of adult populations in various countries through a rolling seven-day average, showcasing the continued global appeal of PM Modi’s leadership.

Three-Term PM Wins Global Approval

Modi, who was re-elected for a historic third term in May 2024, continues to maintain widespread public trust, both within India and internationally. The survey indicates that three out of every four individuals surveyed held a favorable opinion of the Indian leader. While 18% disapproved of his leadership, a modest 7% were either undecided or lacked a clear opinion. This overwhelming support, particularly for a leader serving a third consecutive term, underscores the perception of Modi’s governance as stable, decisive, and forward-looking in the eyes of the global community.

South Korea’s Lee Jae Myung Ranked Second

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung emerged as the second-most popular democratic leader globally, with a solid 59% approval rating. Despite having assumed office only a month prior to the survey, Lee has managed to secure considerable public support. Around 29% of respondents expressed disapproval of his leadership, while approximately 13% remained uncertain. His early popularity highlights public optimism regarding his policies and leadership direction.

Donald Trump Falls to Eighth in Global Ranking

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump, who returned to the White House in 2024, was placed eighth on the list with a 44% approval rating. Despite a decisive electoral victory, his relatively modest popularity score indicates mixed reactions to his domestic and international policies. Analysts suggest that his recent decisions on trade and internal governance may have tempered his global approval ratings, even among allies.

Strong Endorsements from BJP Leaders

The announcement of Modi’s top ranking sparked celebrations within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Amit Malviya, head of the BJP’s IT cell, took to social media to share the news and hailed Modi as the most trusted and highest-rated leader on the global stage. He described the Prime Minister as being “loved by over a billion Indians and respected by millions across the globe,” emphasizing the worldwide admiration for Modi’s leadership.

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also lauded the Prime Minister’s leadership on X (formerly Twitter), stating that Modi’s continued global acclaim was a reflection of his “strong, decisive leadership” and a sign of “Bharat’s rise and the world’s respect.” Both leaders echoed the sentiment that Modi’s performance was not only a source of pride for the nation but also a signal of India’s growing influence on the global stage.

Survey Methodology and Global Impact

The Morning Consult survey measures approval ratings for leaders across democratic nations using daily interviews with thousands of participants worldwide. The firm emphasizes a methodologically rigorous process, using rolling averages to ensure accuracy and consistency. The survey results are closely watched by political analysts, media, and policymakers, as they provide a real-time barometer of global public sentiment toward world leaders.

As India continues to assert itself on the global stage, Modi’s high approval ratings could bolster the country’s diplomatic leverage and further strengthen his position as a key voice in international forums. With consistent public backing and growing global recognition, PM Modi’s leadership appears firmly entrenched, both at home and abroad.
