New Delhi: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has announced the organization of a landmark art event, “Viksit Bharat ke Rang, Kala ke Sang,” to mark the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event, scheduled for September 19, 2025, at Kartavya Path Lawns in the national capital, is being planned as a grand cultural celebration with the aim of setting a world record.

According to NDMC Vice Chairperson Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal, the mega program will be one of the central highlights of Seva Parv—a fortnight-long initiative being conducted from September 17 to October 2, 2025. The Parv will feature multiple activities inspired by the Prime Minister’s motto “Seva hi Sankalp hai, Bharat Pratham Prerna hai,” reflecting his emphasis on service, nation-first spirit, and inclusive development.

A 10-Kilometer Canvas as the Showstopper

The main attraction of the program will be the creation of a 10-kilometer-long canvas painting, to be crafted collectively by eminent artists, Padma awardees, and thousands of students. NDMC has confirmed that more than 12,500 participants have already registered, making the event one of the largest collaborative art initiatives in the country.

The canvas will portray Prime Minister Modi’s life journey, his flagship schemes, and key achievements across sectors. Themes will also include India’s growth trajectory, his role in shaping development policies, and the vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047,” a roadmap for the nation’s centenary of independence.

Organizers stated that the event aims to establish a world record for the largest collective art creation, showcasing both artistic excellence and public participation.

Nationwide Involvement and Collaborations

The NDMC revealed that contributions for the program are expected from every state, district, and village in India, making it a pan-India cultural exercise. The initiative will see collaboration with Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri awardees, senior artists, Triveni Kala Sangam, and Delhi University.

International participation has also been planned, with prominent artists from across the globe set to join virtually. They will share artworks and messages of inspiration in solidarity with the event’s theme.

A Tribute to Service and Leadership

Speaking about the event, Shri Chahal emphasized that the program is not just an art exhibition but a celebration of the life and values of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“This is not merely an art festival but a tribute to the life and leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, who has dedicated his entire life to service, sacrifice, and the spirit of Nation First. His tireless efforts inspire every Indian to contribute towards building a Viksit Bharat,” Shri Chahal said.

He added that the event will symbolize the unity and creativity of the nation while reflecting the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India by 2047.

Registration and Awards

NDMC has made registration for participants mandatory through a Google form, ensuring streamlined coordination. Every registered participant will receive a certificate after the event. In addition, awards will be distributed across several categories, including Eminent and Senior Artists (30+ years), Young Artists, College Students, and School Students.

Prizes will be conferred for first, second, and third positions in each category, along with consolation and participation awards. The initiative seeks to encourage both established and emerging artists to contribute their talent and creativity.

Preparations in Full Swing

Organizers highlighted that preparations are underway at Kartavya Path Lawns to accommodate the large-scale gathering of artists and visitors. NDMC is coordinating with cultural bodies, universities, and schools to ensure seamless execution of the mega program.

Shri Chahal appealed to artists, students, and youth across the country to take part in the initiative in large numbers. “Come, be a part of this historic celebration of the journey of a Viksit Bharat under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister and help make this event a grand success,” he urged.

Beyond Art: A Movement of National Inspiration

The event is being positioned not only as a cultural milestone but also as a broader movement that reflects India’s aspirations. The collective artwork is expected to showcase how art can serve as a powerful medium to tell the story of a nation’s progress, while also fostering creativity among the younger generation.

By aligning the event with the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday, the NDMC hopes to create an atmosphere of national celebration, honoring a leader whose tenure has been marked by developmental reforms, global outreach, and people-centric governance.

A Historic Attempt for the Record Books

If successful, the 10-kilometer-long canvas painting will be recorded as one of the world’s largest collective artistic efforts. Organizers believe this achievement will not only highlight India’s artistic heritage but also demonstrate the power of community-driven cultural expression.

With over 12,500 participants and contributions expected from every corner of the nation, the event promises to stand out as a historic blend of art, service, and patriotism.

As India gears up for the celebration, “Viksit Bharat ke Rang, Kala ke Sang” is poised to become a landmark occasion, reflecting the spirit of unity and creativity that lies at the heart of the country’s developmental journey.
