“Delhi Baba Accused of Harassing Women, Police Probe Intensifies”

Shocking Allegations Surface in Delhi Ashram

A fresh controversy has erupted in the capital after multiple women accused Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, alias Partha Sarathy, of sexual harassment. The accused was the director of Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management in Delhi’s posh Vasant Kunj area, where he allegedly targeted women students pursuing postgraduate management diploma courses under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category.

According to the police, at least 17 of 32 women students who recorded their statements accused Swami Chaitanyananda of sending lewd messages, using offensive language, and making unwanted physical advances. The disturbing claims were bolstered by further allegations that women faculty members and administrative staff had pressured students to comply with his demands.

Women Speak Out Against Abuse

The case came to light after students revealed that some wardens of the institute had introduced them to the accused. Once trust was gained, they alleged, the Baba began exploiting his position of authority and power to prey on vulnerable students.

“The environment was made so hostile that many of us were left with no choice but to stay silent. Only when more women spoke up together did we feel safe to come forward,” one of the victims reportedly told the police.

The complaints have been registered under charges of sexual harassment and related offenses. Amit Goyal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-West District), confirmed that a formal case has been filed and further investigation is underway.

Raids and Investigation Reveal Fake Embassy Plates

As part of the investigation, police teams conducted raids at both the ashram and the residence of the accused. CCTV footage was reviewed to verify the victims’ claims. During these operations, authorities stumbled upon another shocking discovery: a luxury Volvo car hidden in the institute’s basement, allegedly used by Swami Chaitanyananda.

Upon inspection, it was found that the car bore a forged diplomatic license plate reading “39 UN 1.” The police immediately seized the vehicle, describing it as a serious offense that could suggest deeper layers of criminal intent and possible misuse of identity.

Accused on the Run, Police Intensify Search

Despite mounting evidence and multiple raids, the accused remains absconding. According to police sources, his last known location was traced near Agra, but he has since managed to evade capture. Several police teams are currently deployed to track him down.

Officials believe that his connections and influence might be helping him stay ahead of the law, but they remain confident about an eventual arrest. “We have credible leads, and our teams are working round-the-clock to bring him into custody,” said a senior police officer.

Ashram and Sringeri Peetha Sever Ties

The scandal has placed the Sri Sharda Institute and its parent organization, the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetha of Sringeri, under public scrutiny. In a statement, the Sringeri Peetha declared that it has no tolerance for such misconduct.

The statement read: “The conduct and activities of Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati are illegal, inappropriate, and contrary to the interests of the Peetha. We have immediately expelled him from his post and severed all ties with him.”

The ashram administration has also confirmed his removal and expressed cooperation with law enforcement.

Broader Concerns About Safety in Religious Institutions

This case has sparked wider debate over accountability in spiritual and educational institutions across India. Experts say that such abuses thrive when authority figures enjoy unchecked power. Activists are demanding stricter background checks for those running institutions and stronger mechanisms for students to report harassment safely.

Women’s rights groups have also criticized the role of faculty members accused of coercing students to remain silent. “The betrayal of trust by female staff members makes this case even more disturbing,” said a women’s activist in Delhi.

Public Outrage and Demand for Justice

The case has triggered outrage among Delhi residents and the larger public, many of whom are demanding immediate action against the accused. Social media platforms are abuzz with calls for his arrest and justice for the victims.

With 17 women coming forward with similar allegations, police officials have termed the matter “grave” and assured the public that all angles, including financial misconduct and misuse of fake plates, will be thoroughly investigated.

For now, the victims and their families await the arrest of Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, hoping the legal system will deliver justice and send a strong message that abuse of power will not be tolerated.
