Johnnie Moore, former Commissioner of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), has slammed the Bangladesh interim government over the situation of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh. “Protecting minorities is the duty of the government itself in the country, and all Hindus and other minorities are under threat,” Moore said. He added that it’s not only about a minority rather the security of the entire country.

Muhammad Yunus, as the advisor of interim government is not the best one because the responsibility is not honestly carried by him. He failed to protect and give security to the minority people in Bangladesh. He further added that even a lawyer’s death is not taken to be a serious issue and was shocked by Yunus’s response, as well as the Bangladesh government. Their approach is weak and they think that it’s not that important rather than being exaggerated.

He urged human rights organizations to speak out against the atrocities committed against Hindus. Moore emphasized that the global Christian Community stands by Hindus in Bangladesh. Also he said that Yunus must fix this now. He continued that India has always tried to have mutual co-operate Bangladesh in all matters, so, a cordial relation will lead to benefit for Bangladesh. Animosity with India will be a loss to them as India is “an economic, technological, and political powerhouse.”
