PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate Ashta Laxmi Mahotsav on 6th December in Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Modi seeks to showcase the culture of North East India in this three day cultural festival to be held from 6th December to 8th December. It will be highlighting the vibrant textile industry, artisanal crafts and unique geographical indication (GI).
PM Modi also aimed to promote economic opportunities and employment within the artisanal community like handicrafts, handlooms, agricultural products and tourism. He stated that it is a fantastic platform for artisans and buyers to connect with expected outcomes including rupees 2 crore in on spot sales and over 50 bulk orders.
This festival is being organised by northeastern handicrafts and handy looms development cooperation it’s a Government of India enterprise and Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will be inaugurating this event on December 6th.
This vibrant festival will showcase the north eastern region’s cultural heritage traditional arts and crafts highlighting it’s wide cultural tapestry .One can expect an array of exciting events like fashion show with count contemporary designs infused with traditional textiles music and cultural performance technical session and an investment round table ,grameen haats and state specific pavilion technical sessions on key areas crucial development of North-eastern region.
