Today India slammed Pakistan to put an end to supporting terrorism and take action against Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief Masood Azhar. And he should be brought to justice.
India has been accusing Pakistan of providing refuge to terrorist havens led by Azhar. Jem has been linked to several terrorist attacks in India, like in December 2001, when members of JeM (Army of the Prophet) attacked the Indian parliament. After the attack, then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government amassed an army on the border to confront Pakistan about the attack, which lasted several months. They also had hands in the Pulwama terror attack in 2019.
India demands Pakistan must take credible and irreversible action against terrorist groups operating on their soil. India also mentioned that Pakistan’s failure to act against those groups is a major obstacle to peace and stability in their region.
However, Pakistan claims that they are not feeding JeM, as their leader Azhar now resides in Afghanistan. He is also on India’s most wanted hiti list.
