India’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, emphasised India’s “balanced” approach to the ongoing conflict in West Asia and reaffirmed support for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
The minister stated that as a nation that has experienced the devastating effects of terrorism, we vehemently oppose both terrorism and hostage-taking. They must never be accepted or excused.
He emphasised that any government or any armed force must always take care of civilian casualties. Further, he added India has contributed to UNRWA and provided Palestine with relief supplies. This agency is crucial for Palestinian relief efforts.
While interacting with the Indian community in Bahrain, India’s strides towards development. He listed infrastructural change, digital public infrastructure, and advances in ease of doing business as major accomplishments. Jaishankar had earlier spoken with his Bahraini counterpart on new prospects in fields including technology, education, FinTech, and space.
Jaishankar and Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani of Bahrain co-chaired the 4th India-Bahrain High Joint Commission (HJC) while he was there. The goal of this partnership was to investigate shared interests and strengthen India-Bahrain ties.
India’s diplomatic endeavors and dedication to cultivating global alliances while tackling regional issues via communication and collaboration were emphasized during Jaishankar’s visit.
