Opposition Gives Notice For Moving No-Confidence Motion Against VP Jagdeep Dhankhar In Rajya Sabha

In a dramatic turn of events, the Congress-led India block has submitted a no-confidence motion against Rajya Sabha chairman, and vice president of India Jagdeep Dhankar. This move came as a shock in the political establishment, highlighting the growing tensions between the BJP and the opposition party.
This no-confidence motion was signed by over 50 members particularly consisting of Trinamool Congress, Aam Adami Party, and Samajwadi Party showing their disapproval for BJP rule. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh described their actions as a “painful” but important step to protect parliament democracy.
The motion comes amid the tension between BJP and Congress in parliament over BJP’s accusations that Rahul Gandhi the Congress Party senior leader allegedly has ties with international investor George Soros. On the other hand, the opposition has been demanding a discussion on the Adani issue.
Jagdeep’s allies will need the support of at least 50 members to turn the motion because if the motion is passed it will to the removal of Jagdeep Dhankar as Rajya Sabha chairman.
However, the BJP is confident with its numbers and is likely to oppose the motion it has also accused the opposition party of destabilizing the government and disrupting parliamentary proceedings. The discussion of Dhankar’s fate will soon be discussed in parliament.
