The BJP MP Kiren Rijiju has criticised India bloc’s resolution to remove Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar stating it as “extremely regrettable”. On the other hand, he has praised VP Dhankar saying that he is extremely professional and impartial.

INDIA bloc led by the congress has accused Dhankar of being biased in his conduct as the chairman of Rajya Sabha. They have started a no confidence motion signed by more than 50 MP’s mainly consisting of trinamool Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and Samajwadi Party.

For removing the Rajya Sabha Chairman Dhankar the opposition will require 3/4th votes of Rajya Sabha members and approval of lok sabha. However the opposition lacks the required number in 243 member Rajya Sabha.

Despite this the opposition sees their move as a way to send a strong message within the Parliamentary Democracy.
