A group of 101 farmers of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha are all set to resume their ‘Delhi Chalo’ march today on foot from the Shambhu border to Delhi. The march aims to compel the government to address their long-standing demands, including a guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and loan waivers.

The march initially scheduled to take place earlier was suspended due to injuries sustained by the farmers on Sunday. It was further delayed due to the deteriorating health of their leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal of SKM who has been on a fast unto death since November 26.

Dallewal’s fast unto death has raised a lot of concern for his health which led the Supreme Court to direct the Punjab and Central government to make arrangements for his medical assistance.

Further internet services have been suspended in parts of Ambala from December 14 (06:00 hrs) to December 17 (23:59 hrs) in the apprehension of causing tension, annoyance, agitation, damage of private and public property, and disturbance of public peace and tranquility in the district.
