Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath voiced his support for the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), backing Allahabad High Court Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav’s statement advocating for UCC.
Addressing the ‘World Economic Hindu Forum 2024’ in Mumbai, Adityanath slammed the opposition for filing an impeachment notice against Justice Yadav. Yogi accused the opposition of sabotaging the constitution and attempting to intimidate those who speak the truth, including the judges, who highlight societal realities through cultural and social organizations.
Yogi also criticized the Congress for trying to diminish Indian cultural identity and traditions. Drawing on references from the Ramayana and Mahabharata Yogi blasted Rahul Gandhi and emphasized the importance of upholding India’s heritage.
The chief minister also praised VP Dhankar for upholding constitutional dignity while effectively managing the upper house. He also accused the opposition of hypocrisy for filing a motion against it.
