Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of India, Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday criticized the Congress leaders for their conduct in parliament today. He stated that the country will never forgive Congress for its misconduct.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Kharge and Rahul Gandhi must apologize for their behavior. However, as the leaders did not apologize, he attributed it to their arrogance. He sorrowfully stated that he has been a member of Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly a dozen times and is well aware of the behavior and conduct of MPs and MLAs but what happened in Parliament is unimaginable for him.

He said, “The behavior was indecent, unbecoming and hooliganistic. Which the civilized society cannot even imagine.” He acknowledged that MPs have the right to protest. Congress also had been protesting for a few days with their members being gathered near Makar Dwar due to which the ruling party members used to take another door to quietly pass through. But today when BJP MPs were protesting at the same place then Rahul Gandhi indulged himself in pushing and hooliganism.

He said, “But Rahul Gandhi deliberately and thoughtfully reached among our MPs and not only did he come in the middle but also indulged in pushing and hooliganism.”

Addressing the injured BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput he stated that Sarangi suffered a serious injury on his forehead and was admitted to ICU while when he went to see Mukesh Rajput he was still unconscious with his MRI being done. Shivraj Singh therefore questioned the need to use physical force instead of arguments.

He further said, “Will such scenes be seen in Parliament, will physical force be used instead of resorting to arguments?” He expressed his regret over one of their tribal MP Mrs Konyak’s experience. She went crying to the Chairman complaining to him about the indecent and uncivil treatment given to her.

Shivraj Singh questioned, “Will a female tribal MP be treated like this, will people come so close to her that she becomes uncomfortable? Respecting mother, sister and daughter has been India’s priority. But can anyone imagine such behaviour with a female tribal MP? What has happened to Rahul Gandhi and Congress?”

He further stated that by 2 pm when he reached the Lok Sabha, Congress MPs had broken all decorum and had climbed up to the chairman’s seat.

He said, “Today, the dignity of the chair has been trampled underfoot, democracy has been ripped to pieces, the Constitution has been crushed, the sin of tarnishing democracy has been committed by the people of the Congress and the Indy alliance. The country will never forgive him for this.”

The standoff between the ruling Party and the opposition parties turned violent with both parties blaming each other for their unruliness. The incident occurred when Congress leaders during their protest against Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks on BR Ambedkar were returning from the BR Ambedkar statue in Prerna Sthal to Makar Dwar.
