Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput who were injured during the commotion in the parliament told him that Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi ‘invaded’ them ‘like a bouncer’ and Singh added to it a “shameful act”.

Singh said that both MPs were unwell, Mukesh Rajput had swelling on the back of his head and Pratap Sarangi was feeling dizzy. The next decision on their health was taken by the doctors. Singh further added that Sarangi told him that Rahul Gandhi attacked him like a bouncer and he deliberately wanted to get involved in the strife.

On Thursday, Gandhi and other MPs of the INDIA bloc led the protests in the parliament complex demanding an apology and resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his remarks on B.R. Ambedkar. When a fracas broke out, it led to the injury of two BJP MPs.

A Police case has been registered against Gandhi BY BJP regarding the incident. BJP had filed a complaint under various sections including 109 (attempt to murder), 115 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 117 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 125 (the act of endangering life or personal safety of others), 131 (use of criminal force), 351 (criminal intimidation) and 3(5) (common intention) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Due to this incident, tensions have developed between members of the opposition party and the BJP-led NDA alliance. Congress Chief Kharge, clearing the stance, said that he was pushed and the MPs were injured during this incident.

“This is an insult to democracy. The Congress party and its leaders have always attempted to shred the Constitution and democracy of this country. This incident was very unfortunate”, remarked BJP MP CP Joshi.
