An Indian-American former venture capitalist named Sriram Krishnan, a former Microsoft employee and adviser to entrepreneur Elon Musk has been named by US President-elect Donald Trump as the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy’s senior policy advisor for artificial intelligence.
Krishnan, an Elon Musk associate, will collaborate with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology and help create AI policy throughout the administration. “I’m honored to be able to serve our country and ensure continued American leadership in AI working closely with David Sacks,” Krishnan shared on X.
Trump stated in a post on his social media platform that Sriram Krishnan will focus on ensuring continued American leadership in AI and help shape and coordinate AI policy across Government, including working with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology
Krishnan’s LinkedIn profile states that he has held positions at Andreessen Horowitz, most recently as a general partner, as well as at Microsoft, Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter (X).
Sacks was named the first artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency czar of the United States earlier this month. Musk, who will lead the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is anticipated to collaborate closely with both Sacks and Krishnan.
He became well-known in 2022 as a result of his collaboration with Musk and Sacks to restructure X after its takeover. He co-hosts The Aarthi and Sriram Show with his spouse, Aarthi Ramamurthy.
Krishnan, an Indian-American immigrant, has advocated for the entry of highly skilled individuals into the United States. He finished his schooling in India, earning an IT degree from SRM Engineering College at Anna University in Tamil Nadu in 2005.
