Actress Amber Heard has spoken out in support of Blake Lively, who recently filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director in the film “It Ends With Us”. Lively alleges that Baldoni sexually harassed her and orchestrated a smear campaign to destroy her reputation.
Heard, who has faced similar experiences with online harassment and smear campaigns, expressed her solidarity with Lively. “Social media is the absolute personification of the classic saying ‘A lie travels halfway around the world before truth can get its boots on,'” Heard stated. “I saw this firsthand and up close. It’s as horrifying as it is destructive”.
Heard’s statement draws parallels between Lively’s allegations and her own highly publicized defamation trial with ex-husband Johnny Depp. Notably, Baldoni hired the same crisis PR manager, Melissa Nathan, who represented Depp during his trial.
Lively’s lawsuit accuses Baldoni of creating a hostile work environment and making inappropriate comments about her physical appearance. The lawsuit also alleges that Baldoni and other production team members coordinated a smear campaign to damage Lively’s reputation.
Baldoni’s lawyer has denied the allegations, claiming that Lively is attempting to fix her “negative reputation”. The case is ongoing, with many in the entertainment industry watching closely.
