‘Deeply Saddened’: India Expresses Condolences Over South Korea Plane Crash Tragedy

India expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the plane crash at Muan International Airport in South Korea on Sunday, which has resulted in 176 deaths so far.

Ambassador of India to the Republic of Korea, Amit Kumar posted on X, “Deeply saddened to learn of the tragic plane crash at Muan airport today. We extend our heartfelt condolences to bereaved family members. The Indian Embassy stands in solidarity with the people & government of RoK in this difficult hour.”

A 15-year-old Boeing 737-800 passenger plane while returning from Bangkok lost control skidded on the runway and slammed into a concrete fence before bursting into flames.

The National Fire Agency of South Korea said that 176 people including 83 women, 82 men along with 11 others whose gender is unidentifiable perished out of 181 people being carried by Jeju Air passenger plane.
