Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025 at Bharat Mandapam on Jan 4 in New Delhi, based on the theme “Building a Resilient Rural India for a Viksit Bharat 2024.” In his address to people, PM Modi highlighted the importance of strengthening rural India and enhancing opportunities for growth while securing a dignified life for villagers.
PM Modi pointed out the government’s endeavors since 2014, from fulfilling basic necessities such as toilets, pucca houses, clean drinking water, and health facilities through various initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission, PM Awaas Yojana, and Jal Jeevan Mission. He also mentioned the success of telemedicine, the development of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, and the continuous aid to farmers through initiatives like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
The Prime Minister stressed the significant growth in rural infrastructure, which enhanced connectivity through roads, highways, and railways, as well as digital access. He acknowledged the role of women in rural development and the positive impact of projects like self-help groups and the Mudra Yojana.
PM Modi reasserted the government’s commitment to reducing rural poverty, focusing on the growth of rural MSMEs, cooperatives, and agricultural policies. He concluded by promoting collective efforts to constantly transform villages into vibrant hubs of development.
The event is attended by the Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, and the Minister of State for Finance, Shri Pankaj Chaudhary, among the dignitaries.
