A blast with an improvised explosive device IIED) on a vehicle carrying security personnel on Monday by Naxalites resulted in the loss of 9 lives and left many others injured.
The attack occurred at 2:30 pm, approximately 80 kilometers from the district headquarters, on the Kutru-Bedru route in the Kutru region of Bijapur district, located in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh.
The officers were returning in a Scorpio SUV from an operation earlier today, during which five rebels, including two women, were killed in a Maoist attack in the Abujhmad region of Chhattisgarh. Several weapons, including AK-47 rifles and self-loading rifles, were recovered during the operation.
The zone of the blast has been barricaded for the public while the rest of the information is awaited.
