The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) blasted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), calling it a “clear display of anarchy” following its leaders’ confrontation with Delhi Police officers stationed outside the Chief Minister’s home today.
In an attempt to dispute the BJP’s “Sheesh Mahal” taunts, AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bhardawaj asked the media to enter the Delhi Chief Minister’s official mansion, but they were prevented from doing so.
To keep the AAP leaders from entering the bungalow at 6, Flagstaff Road, police placed barricades and policemen in front of the building. Additionally, they argued angrily with the police officers stationed outside the bungalow.
“We came here to conclude this argument of ‘tera ghar, mera ghar’. We said that the PM residence and CM residence should both be shown to the people. So, we came here,” Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said after being denied entry.
Addressing a press briefing earlier, Bharadwaj had said that they will try to find out whether the golden commode, swimming pool, and mini bar that the BJP claims are present there.
He further added that It should be noted that both these properties are government residences. They were built with taxpayers’ money and came up during the Covid pandemic. If there are allegations of misappropriation of funds, both should be investigated.
Additionally, Singh and Bharadwaj had promised to show the media the prime minister’s home, which the AAP has called the “Raj Mahal” and asserted was constructed at a cost of 2,700 crore.
The AAP’s counterclaim that the prime minister has a lavish life includes the “Raj Mahal” jab. The AAP leaders were accused by the BJP of “enacting drama” during their visit to the bungalow during the implementation of the model code of conduct for the next Assembly elections.
The AAP offered to give reporters a tour of the chief minister’s bungalow and challenged the BJP to allow a media visit to the prime minister’s home on Tuesday in order to expose the truth.
