BJP National President J P Nadda slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday, alleging that the CAG report on the Delhi government’s excise policy has unveiled intentional lapses.
Nadda also stated that the alleged fraud led to a loss of ₹2,026 crore to the exchequer. The BJP chief wrote on X, “Intoxicated by power, high on misgovernance. The AAP-DA model of loot is in full display, and that too on something like liquor.”
He said it was just a matter of a few fortnights before the AAP government was voted out and punished for its wrongdoings.
He further wrote, “The CAG Report on ‘Liquor Gate’ exposes Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party Gov. Intentional ‘lapses’ in policy implementation.” ₹2026 Cr loss to Exchequer money.”
The Congress also joined the BJP. Senior leader of Congress Sandeep Dikshit said that it was evident that Kejriwal had ‘done wrong.’.
“CAG stated that there has been a fraud of ₹2000 crores in the liquor excise policy. Now it is clear that Kejriwal has done wrong. He has drained the government treasury. If ₹2000 crores have been lost in 6 months due to the liquor policy, if that scheme was still running, we would have faced a loss of ₹10,000-12,000 crores.
The AAP counterattacked the allegations, saying that the BJP has itself accepted that no CAG report has been presented.
“Where is the report? The BJP itself keeps saying no CAG report has been submitted,” AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said when questioned about the BJP allegations.
The Delhi assembly elections will be held next month with voting scheduled on February 5.
