Six army personnel were injured in a landmine explosion in a forward region of the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
The incident occurred around 10:45 am when the officers were on patrol duty near Khamba Fort of the Nowshera sector. One of the soldiers inadvertently stepped over the landmine leading to the explosion. All the injured soldiers were immediately shifted to the hospital and their condition was stated to be stable.
As part of an anti-infiltration system, the soldiers were patrolling in a forward area, a region near combat near the Line of Control (LOC) which was scattered with landmines. According to officials, heavy rains cause landmines to shift from their original positions, leading to these accidents.
