The US President Donald Trump disclosed that he believed he had done nothing wrong and turned down the chance to pardon himself before he left office in 2021.
Trump told anchor Sean Hannity in his first interview in the Oval Office since re-entering the White House that the self-pardon proposal was made as he was leaving the White House following his defeat in the 2020 election.
Trump cleared that he will not pardon. During the one-hour conversation, Trump frequently discussed his previous grievances. Trump also made fun of his predecessor, Joe Biden, for failing to pardon himself before his resignation, implying that the Democrat may later come to regret the error.
Trump shortened the prison terms and granted pardons to those accused of crimes related to the January 6, 2021, riot at the US Capitol. Additionally, he has promised to drop the charges against all 1,500 or more participants in the Capitol Hill attacks.

Biden had previously pardoned retired General Mark Milley, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and members of the House committee that looked into the attack on the Capitol on January 6 before he left office.
Last year, the US Supreme Court decided that while Presidents are generally immune from prosecution for actions that may be deemed official, this does not apply to the President’s associates and aide.
