Gangster Joginder Gyong was deported from the Philippines to Delhi on Sunday, according to the CBI, after being wanted by police and facing an Interpol Red Notice.

In a criminal conspiracy and murder case filed against him in Panipat, Joginder Gyong was wanted by the Haryana Police. Reports claimed that he was handed over to Delhi Police when he arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport because the force also wanted him.

A representative for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said in a statement that on October 25, 2024, Interpol issued a Red Notice against Joginder Gyong, which was distributed to all law enforcement organizations worldwide in order to seek down the wanted criminal.

“On the strength of the Red Notice, subject Joginder Gyong was deported from the Philippines via Bangkok to Delhi,” he said. The CBI sid that Joginder Gyong planned and killed the victim in order to exact revenge for his brother’s passing.

“The subject was also allegedly involved in criminal cases in various states of India, including Delhi and Punjab, for the offences of robbery, murder, attempt to murder, putting person in fear of death or of grievous hurt in order to commit extortion and kidnapping for ransom,” a spokesperson stated.

Delhi Police reported that the Philippines Bureau of Immigration (PBI) from Bacolod City has detained Gyong in response to India’s plea for his extradition.

“Indian-Nepalese national” Gyong was identified by Delhi Police as a significant player in a separatist terror network.

Gyong was found guilty of unlawfully possessing guns in Haryana and sentenced to life in jail. According to authorities, he committed the murder in Panipat in December 2017 while on parole and then went overseas.
