Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address on the Motion of Thanks to President’s address in the Lok Sabha budget session on Tuesday, took the jibe at opposition parties. Attacking the divisive forces that are trying to divide the country, PM Narendra Modi said that his government is not involved in the “politics of poison.”

He said, “His government lives by the spirit of the Constitution and does not indulge in the politics of poison.” He added that it was his NDA government that took stringent action against terrorists, militants and urban naxals. He further said his government is open for the civil nuclear sector and it will have wider positive impacts.

Slamming out at Rahul Gandhi over his ‘fighting Indian state’ statement, PM Modi said, “Some leaders speak the language of urban naxals, talk about initiating battle against the Indian state. They cannot understand the Constitution.”

This followed Rahul Gandhi’s statement, where he said, “The BJP and RSS have captured every single institution, and we are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian state itself.”.

Gandhi made these remarks on January 15, during the inauguration of Congress’s new headquarters at Kotla Road in Delhi.

PM Modi also take a dig at Congress leader Sonia Gandhi over her “poor thing” remark on President Murmu. He slammed Congress for taking photos near the huts of the poor and not working for their development and when there is a discussion over it, they find it, “boring”.

He said, “We have done so much for the poor, and because of this, the President has to be detailed it in her address. Those who entertain themselves with photo sessions in the huts of the poor, they will find discussion on the poor in the Parliament boring.”

This followed the row sparked by former Congress President’s remarks on President Draupadi Murmu’s address before the budget session. Gandhi said that the president seemed to be getting very tired and said, “By the end she could hardly speak, the poor thing.”
