Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a significant meeting with H.E. Mr. Alar Karis, President of Estonia, today on the sidelines of the AI Action Summit in Paris. This marked the inaugural meeting between the two leaders, emphasizing the warm and friendly relations that exist between India and Estonia.

During their discussions, both leaders highlighted their shared commitment to democracy, the rule of law, and the values of freedom and pluralism. They expressed satisfaction with the increasing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, information technology, digital initiatives, culture, tourism, and people-to-people connections.

The Prime Minister specifically invited the Estonian government and businesses to explore the vast opportunities presented by India’s growth trajectory, particularly through initiatives like Digital India.

The leaders acknowledged the significance of the India-Estonia partnership within the broader context of the India-EU strategic partnership. They welcomed the commencement of ministerial exchanges in the India-Nordic-Baltic format, which aims to enhance collaboration among these regions.

Additionally, they exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, including cooperation at the United Nations.

Prime Minister Modi also expressed appreciation for the growing cultural ties between the two nations, noting the increasing popularity of Yoga in Estonia as a testament to the strengthening people-to-people connections.
