A complaint filed by the Delhi Youth Congress accused Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of deceiving the public by promising welfare programs that never existed, such as the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ that promised women Rs 2,100 in cash support.
Unexpectedly, a few months ago, the AAP and Congress were supposed to run together in the Delhi elections, but Kejriwal insisted on not sharing seats. Following the AAP’s outreach drive to register people for the “Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana” and “Sanjeevani Yojana” in advance of the Delhi Assembly elections in 2025, the complaint was filed. The Health and Women and Child Development (WCD) departments, however, eventually issued public statements informing people not to divulge personal information and clarifying that no such programs were being used.
The Congress further charged that by pushing fictitious projects, the AAP had betrayed public confidence and misused taxpayer funds. “This is a deliberate attempt to mislead the people of Delhi and misuse public funds for deceptive advertisements,” the Youth Congress stated.
The Kejriwal-led AAP government has also come under fire from BJP politicians, who have referred to it as an instance of “digital fraud.” “The people of Delhi are tired of Arvind Kejriwal’s false promises,” stated BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri. Women benefit from numerous welfare programs in states where the BJP is in power. The WCD department of his government is suddenly revealing the fraud with these schemes, despite Kejriwal having done nothing in the previous ten years.
