Union Home Minister Mr Amit Shah, convened a high-level review meeting over the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi today.
During the discussions, Amit Shah reiterated the government’s commitment, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, to eradicate terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir. He noted that the sustained efforts of the Modi administration have significantly weakened the terrorism ecosystem in the region.
The Home Minister urged all security agencies to intensify their operations against terrorism, setting a goal of achieving ‘zero infiltration’ and taking a more aggressive stance against infiltration and terrorist activities.
Mr. Shah highlighted the role of narco-trafficking in supporting terrorist activities and called for immediate action against terror financing linked to the narcotics trade.
He also directed the agencies to expedite the recruitment process for the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to ensure the effective implementation of new criminal laws.
Emphasizing a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards terrorism, the Home Minister instructed all security agencies to maintain vigilance and collaborate effectively to eliminate terrorist threats in Jammu and Kashmir.
He commended the security forces for their efforts, which have led to notable improvements in the region’s security landscape.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, the Union Home Secretary, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau, and senior representatives from the Jammu and Kashmir administration.
This meeting follows another important review held yesterday, which included the Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Army.
