Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus yesterday called upon the European Union (EU) to relocate the visa center for Bangladeshis traveling from Delhi to Dhaka or any other nearby nation.
He made the call at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Tejgaon, where he was met by a 19-member EU team headed by Michael Miller, Head of the European Union’s team to Bangladesh. The main adviser stated during the conference that many students are unable to travel to Delhi to obtain visas for EU nations because of India’s restrictions on visas for Bangladeshis.
He also gave the EU representatives a thorough briefing on the electoral procedure and reforms of the interim administration. Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. will be participating in the meeting. Touhid Hossain stated that Bulgaria has already moved its visa center for Bangladeshis to Vietnam and Indonesia. He called on other nations to adopt the same procedure.
During the two-and-a-half-hour meeting, they talked about the International Crime Tribunal Act, human rights, trade facilitation, climate change, labor rights, Rohingya repatriation, and creating a sustainable future.
