The chaos is continuously rising in the case of ISKCON monk, Chinmoy Krishna Das. He was held at the airport, facing the charge of treason. It was alleged that he disrespected the Bangladeshi flag. Today his lawyer Saiful Islam Alif was shot dead by police outside Chattogram Court in Bangladesh. Outside the Bangladeshi court, Hindu crowd was demonstrating against Chinmoy Krishna Das’s detention when the police cracked down and started shooting at them.

The complaint was registered where he was charged during a rally of the Hindu community, on October 30. The case was against 19 people accusing them of disrespecting Bangladesh’s national flag in Chattogram’s New Market area. Already after Hasina left, the political scenario of Bangladesh is in turmoil. Hindus are being targeted and are victimised if they try to propagate Hinduism, which is a minority there.

Consequently, bail was also denied to him. It seems that the police already planned according to the governance and Bangladesh police did not seek remand of Chinmoy Das, as a result, he has been ordered to be sent to judicial custody. Hundreds of people from the Hindu community took to the streets.
