In relation to a FIR filed against them about an abetment to suicide case, the wife of 34-year-old Bangalore techie Atul Subhash and three of her family members have applied for bail pleas at the Allahabad High Court for anticipatory relief.
A ‘justice is due’ sign and a 24-page suicide note were left there by Subhash, who reportedly committed himself as a result of his wife harassing him by pursuing marital lawsuits. During an ongoing legal struggle for divorce, alimony, and child custody in a family court in the Jaunpur region of Uttar Pradesh, he also filmed an 81-minute video in which he accused his wife, Nikita Singhania, and her family members of harassing him.
As part of its investigation into engineer Atul Subhash’s suicide, the Bengaluru City Police issued a summons to his wife Nikita Singhania on Friday, asking her to appear before it within three days. The 34-year-old engineer committed suicide on Monday in Bengaluru, citing persecution from his estranged wife and her relatives.
A four-member Bengaluru City Police squad lead by sub-inspector Sanjeet Kumar came at Singhania’s house in the Khowa Mandi region of this Uttar Pradesh district at 11 a.m. and posted the summons notice.
According to Circle Officer (City) Ayush Srivastava, the Bengaluru City Police notification stated that “Nikita Singhania to appear before the investigating officer at Marathahalli police station, Bengaluru, within three days for interrogation.”
Despite the fact that her mother, Nisha Singhania, uncle Sushil Singhania, and brother, Anurag Singhania, were named in the FIR, the notification was only issued to her.
At the time the notice was posted, the house’s main door was shut and no family members were there. The Bengaluru City Police squad landed in Jaunpur late Thursday.
After meeting with Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma, the team headed to the city police station for further action. According to Srivastava, the team planned to visit the civil court in Jaunpur to acquire information regarding past lawsuits filed by Singhania
