Grants for temporary housing and house repairs, inexpensive loans to cover uninsured property damages, and other initiatives to aid in the recovery of people and company owners are examples of assistance.
President has made federal funding available on a cost-sharing basis to state, tribal, and qualifying local governments as well as some private non-profit organizations for emergency work in Los Angeles County.
Federal recovery efforts in the impacted areas will be coordinated by Mr. Curtis Brown of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Other regions are still conducting damage assessments, and after they are finished, other counties and other types of aid might be identified.
Biden examined the damage from the fires, which have been made worse by the Santa Ana winds, during a meeting with California officials, including Governor Gavin Newsom, on Wednesday at a Santa Monica fire station.
Further, President Joe Biden stated that the destructive wildfires sweeping across Los Angeles County this week were headed toward his son Hunter’s house too. However, It’s not clear if the home is still standing or has been destroyed.
