Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with Mahayuti leaders Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar to discuss the formation of the Maharashtra government. In order to make up for the “wrong” that was done to him when he was forced to play a supporting role for the party, the BJP is determined to rehabilitate Fadnavis.
But at the same time, BJP wants Shinde to hold the post of Deputy CM of Maharashtra. On the other hand, Shinde openly says that he will abide by the party’s decision. CM Eknath Shinde has finally given in to the BJP’s demand that he support its nominee and give up his claim to the position of Chief Minister.
“I have myself called PM Narendra Modi and said that whatever decision he takes as head of NDA would be final for the BJP as well as for us. Eknath Shinde will not pose any obstacle to the government formation. I have told this to home minister Amit Shah yesterday and I have told it to the PM today too,” Shinde said.
Shinde says he has been “content” and has no ambiguity towards anyone. Being upset is not his forte and he will support and work with the wishes and decisions made by the party.
