Following a confrontation between BJP and Congress MPs in Parliament, in which BJP MPs Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput suffered serious injuries and were sent to the intensive care unit, a formal complaint has been filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He has been accused by both injured MPs of pushing them during the argument.
To lodge a case against LoP Rahul Gandhi, the BJP legal team went to Parliament Street police station with party MPs Anurag Thakur, Bansuri Swaraj, and others. The incident comes after Amit Shah made divisive comments regarding Dr. Ambedkar that sparked demonstrations and political unrest.
“Rahul Gandhi pushed an MP who fell on me after which I fell… I was standing near the stairs when Rahul Gandhi came and pushed an MP who then fell on me,” the BJP MP said.
To find out how Sarangi was doing, Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Prahlad Joshi, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan traveled to Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital.
In the meantime, the BJP is looking for protest footage in the Pratap Sarangi case to see whether Rahul Gandhi actually shoved the MP. According to insiders, the BJP may submit a formal complaint against Rahul if a video showing the Raebareli MP pushing Sarangi is discovered.
Gandhi defended himself by claiming that the BJP MPs were blocking his path since he was standing close to the entryway. Gandhi went on to say that he had the right to enter the Parliament and that the BJP MPs were attempting to stop him.
A video of Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Kharge purportedly being stopped by BJP MPs as they entered Parliament was also posted by the Congress.
“But we do not get affected by jostling. But this is the entrance, and we have the right to go in. BJP MPs were trying to stop us from going in… The central issue is that they are attacking the Constitution and insulting the memory of Ambedkar ji,” he said
