The Bharatiya Janata Party criticized the Congress on Thursday for publicizing a ‘distorted’ map of India on the welcome banners ahead of the Congress Working Committee meeting in Karnataka on December 26-27.

The BJP while sharing one of the banners posted on X, @INCKarnataka, has shown utter disrespect for India’s sovereignty by displaying a distorted map at their Belagavi event, portraying Kashmir as part of Pakistan. All this just to appease their vote bank. This is shameful!”

BJP marked that the distorted map of India has excluded the Gilgit region of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and the Aksai Chin region which is under China’s control for the time being though both of them are a part of India.

BJP’s National Spokesperson, Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi in a press conference on Thursday alleged that Congress has disrespected the country and publicized a ‘distorted map of India’. He emphasized that maps like these have been advertised by the Congress, their wings, and even Rahul Gandhi previously on several occasions. He stated that some of the tweets, along with the maps, have now been deleted.

He asked, “ Why are different parts of India being shown cut out? Is this just a coincidence or some systematic anti-India move?” He further pointed out that this might be happening under the orders of some anti-India elements and said, “We want to directly ask the Congress that on whose orders is this continuous cutting and showing of parts of India being done? Is there any signal coming from the Soros secret service? Or is there some other anti-India power that is giving you a message from across the seven seas?”

The CWC meeting marks the 100th anniversary of the Belagavi session presided by Mahatma Gandhi in 1924. Senior Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi will also be attending this meeting. Congress has mentioned that through this meeting it will recommit itself to protect, preserve, and promote Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy.
