Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has accused the opposition of turning a blind eye to the violence against Hindus in Sambhal.

Recently, violence erupted in Sambhal over a court-ordered survey of shahi jama masjid a 500-year-old mosque. The survey was done to check if the mosque was built on the ruins of a Hindu temple allegedly demolished during the Mughal period.

The violence resulted in death of five people and over 30 people were injured between the violence. The opposition seized the moment to criticize the government for not handling the situation well.

Chief Minister Adityanath said “the opposition has never stood up for justice”. However, the opposition denied the accusations, saying that they want justice and equal rights for all.
