“Buddha Air flight makes a VOR landing at Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal’s Kathmandu after sustaining a flame out from the left engine. The aircraft had 76 people on board including the crew,” Tribhuvan International Airport said.
The plane made a VOR landing. Pilots can use signals from a ground-based radio station known as a VOR (Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range) to navigate and land an aircraft. When pilots are unable to see the runway well, it helps them align with it.
