Chittagong Court Denies Bail Of Chinmoy Krishna Das

Chinmoy Krishna Das, spokesperson of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Bangladesh received a major setback from the Chittagong court, Bangladesh when he was denied bail on the charges of treason. Because Bangladesh police has not sought remand of Chinmoy Das, as a result, he has been ordered to be sent to judicial custody. The court has also said that he should be given all religious benefits in jail.

Chinmoy Krishna was arrested from Dhaka airport and charged with the allegations of disrespecting the Bangladeshi Flag and thus. During a rally of the Hindu community, on October 30, a case was filed against 19 people, including Das, accusing them of disrespecting Bangladesh’s national flag in Chattogram’s New Market area.

While being produced in the court, Chinmoy Das told the media that he appeals to the Hindus of Bangladesh to carry on the movement.
