King Charles III of the United Kingdom awarded Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas Knighthood and Damehood, respectively, in recognition of their contributions to the motion picture business.

The pair received the royal honors at the event, which was held at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday. On their official social media accounts, the Royal Family announced the news and congratulated Nolan and Thomas as well as all of the honorees.

The Dark Knight trilogy and Oppenheimer are just two of the popular movies that Nolan and Thomas have worked on together. They received important honors as a result of their partnership’s notable influence on the film business.

Men are given the title of knighthood, while women are given the title of damehood, both of which permit the recipients to use the titles Sir or Dame before their names.

Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy, earned Christopher Nolan his first Oscar for Best Director earlier this year. The life of American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who was instrumental in the development of nuclear weapons during World War II, is examined in the film.
