"Such a shameful act cannot happen unknowingly, this cartoon filled with hatred towards Babasaheb was made public only after the approval of the royal family and the whole country knows who had control of the remote-run government at that time," Pradhan said.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Thursday slammed the Congress, alleging it has always hated BR Ambedkar. According to Dharmendra Pradhan, a “shameful” cartoon depicting Pandit Nehru “whipping” Babasaheb Ambedkar, was published in the 2012 NCERT textbook for Class XI during the UPA-II regime. He claimed that the “crocodile tears” of the Congress over Ambedkar are just pretense.

“Suddenly the Congress has got a lot of respect for Babasaheb Ambedkar. These crocodile tears of the Congress for Babasaheb are just a pretense, there is a huge difference between their words and actions. The Congress party’s hatred and contempt for Babasaheb is well known,” Pradhan wrote in a post.

“After strong opposition from BJP, then Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal apologized and announced to withdraw it.”Such a shameful act cannot happen unknowingly, this cartoon filled with hatred towards Babasaheb was made public only after the approval of the royal family and the whole country knows who had control of the remote-run government at that time,” Pradhan said.

The statements coincided with a heated political dispute between the Congress and opposition parties calling for the BJP to answer for remarks made by Home Minister Amit Shah against Ambedkar. In response, the Congress was charged by the BJP with adopting an “Anti-Ambedkar” position.

Members of Parliament (MPs) from opposing parties started fighting as the altercation spread into Parliament. There have been claims that Congressman Rahul Gandhi shoved BJP MP Pratap Sarangi, who was hurt in the incident.
