Today Delhi’s former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the assassination attempt on Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal while performing Sewadar duties at the Golden Temple on Wednesday has been referred to as a ‘Big Conspiracy’.
Badal was attacked by Narain Singh Chaura, a Khalistani activist with criminal background by opening fire on him in the temple premises. However, he was arrested on the spot. Many leaders like BJP National Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa, SAD leader Vikram Singh Majithia, Punjab Congress Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring among others held Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal responsible for the security breach.
In retaliation Arvind Kejriwal called this as a ‘Big Conspiracy’ to defame Punjab and Punjabis. He also praised Punjab police for its alertness and being able to save Badal. He further criticized the BJP by questioning the worsening situation in Delhi, where open firing, widespread drug availability, and abuse of women have become regular occurrences.
