Bengaluru, India – In a significant move to make health insurance more accessible and affordable for gig economy workers, Covrzy, a Bengaluru-based insurance-tech start-up, has partnered with Namma Yatri, India’s leading open-mobility platform. The partnership aims to provide health insurance coverage to Namma Yatri drivers and their family members across India.

Integration of Embedded Health Insurance

As part of the strategic collaboration, Covrzy will integrate its embedded health insurance offerings within the Namma Yatri driver-facing app. This integration will enable drivers to discover, compare, and purchase health insurance plans tailored to their needs, allowing for hassle-free, digital-first insurance purchase journeys with minimal paperwork and instant digital issuance.

Benefits for Drivers

The partnership will benefit over 3,000 Namma Yatri driver-captains in Bengaluru in the initial phase, with plans to expand to over 50,000 drivers across various cities in the next 12-18 months. The health insurance plans offered will include benefits such as hospitalization coverage of up to ₹3 lakhs, cashless treatment across 10,000+ hospitals, OPD wellness support, and more. Additionally, Covrzy and Namma Yatri plan to extend insurance benefits to cover drivers’ spouses and children under family floater plans.

Awareness and Support

To accelerate adoption of health insurance among the drivers’ community, Covrzy and Namma Yatri will conduct physical awareness drives at auto stands, provide on-ground helpdesks via community volunteers, and offer in-app guides, FAQs, and video explainers in regional languages.
