In a cybercrime money laundering case, an Enforcement Directorate was allegedly attacked while conducting raids in Delhi. The PPPYL cyber app fraud investigation is still underway, and this incident is connected to it. This incident took place in the Bijwasan area of the national capital where the accused, Ashok Sharma along with his brother attacked. They were five in number.
According to officials, one additional director of the probing officer was injured in this act. An FIR has been filed, and the property has been secured. The ED stated, “The Enforcement Directorate’s High-Intensity Unit (HIU) launched extensive searches today targeting top chartered accountants allegedly linked to a massive cybercrime network operating across India”.
It further added, “The raids follow an investigation that uncovered the laundering of illicit funds generated from thousands of cybercrimes, including phishing scams, QR code fraud, and part-time job scams”.
