Today midnight violence erupted in Pakistan because the supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan were forced to leave the capital’s D-Chowk and its nearby main business district at midnight due to a crackdown by security forces. His party on Wednesday referred to the protest as a “massacre” under the “fascist military regime.” Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claimed that security personnel had attacked protesters violently with live bullets in an attempt to kill as many people as possible, while police sources reported that roughly 450 protestors had been arrested during the operation and that further arrests were anticipated. The police launched an operation to clear the Blue Area business area. PTI called it the darkest hour of Pakistan.
The demonstrations started as part of a broader PTI campaign to call for Imran Khan’s release from prison, where he has been detained since August. The Red Zone in Islamabad, which is home to important government facilities, saw thousands of demonstrators. PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram said in a post on X that “Gandapur and Bibi are safe”. Information Minister Atta Tarar also claimed that documents were also found detailing a plan to enter the Red Zone to attack parliament and government property, and target state officials.
The blame game was on throwing mud on each other. In response to the crackdown, the PTI accused the government of employing violence to murder hundreds of its employees. On the other hand, the party said that the world must condemn this atrocity and the erosion of democracy.and humanity in Pakistan. The international community must take a strong stand against this brutal crackdown.
