Ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly Election 2025, Delhi LG VK Saxena permitted the Enforcement Directorate to prosecute the Ex-Chief Minister of Delhi and convener of the Aam Aadmi Party in the excise policy scam case.
ED got LG’s nod to prosecute Kejriwal earlier this month after it allegedly found a huge level of corruption in the framing and implementation of liquor policy which was mentioned in prosecution complaint no. 7 filed in Rouse Avenue court on May 17 this year.
AAP replied, “The so-called liquor scam investigation has been dragged for 2 years, harassing over 500 peoples, filing 50,000 pages of documents, and conducting over 250 raids yet not a single penny has been recovered”. With it, AAP took a stance on BJP’s Goal to crush AAP and Arvind Kejriwal’s image ahead of upcoming elections by any means.
Reacting to the same Manish Sisodia ex Deputy CM alleged that it was ‘false’ and ‘misleading’ news. He also asked if LG Vinay Saxena has permitted to prosecution Arvind Kejriwal, then why ED is not submitting any copy of that permission. He further said that it is also clear that this is fake news and its main intention is to divert attention from the insult to Baba Saheb.” Wrote Sisodia on X.
AAP leader Priyanka Kakkar came in support of Manish Sisodia and wrote on X “LG Sexena has got given any approval to ED to prosecute Kejriwal. This is false news.” And demanded a copy of approval from ED. Arvind Kejriwal is currently out on bail in both ED and CBI cases related to the scrapped excise policy.
Recently Delhi High Court issued a notice against Kejriwal and Sisodia’s plea to challenge the trial court’s decision to take cognizance of the ED’s charge sheet against them.
According to ED the excise policy was designed with many loopholes which provide benefits to AAP and to foster the development of it in Goa elections. ED accuses AAP leaders of demanding Funds for preferential treatment in license fee waivers, discounts, etc.
