New Delhi: In a significant push to promote health and wellness, the Delhi government, for the first time, is organizing large-scale Yoga Day events at 11 different locations across the capital. Chief Minister Gupta confirmed the plan, stating that the initiative aims to encourage citizens to embrace yoga as well as their cultural roots and way of life.🤸‍♂️

“I will participate at the Yamuna riverbank and share a message encouraging people to embrace their cultural heritage and lifestyle,” said CM Gupta, highlighting the cultural significance of the initiative. The riverbank is expected to be one of the key venues, witnessing a large turnout of yoga enthusiasts.

In parallel, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has launched preparations for an extensive celebration in the New Delhi area. NDMC Vice-Chairperson Kuljeet Chahal announced that yoga sessions will be held at eight prominent locations:

  1. Kartavya Path

  2. Lodhi Garden

  3. Talkatora Garden

  4. Shanti Path

  5. Central Park in Connaught Place

  6. Pandara Park

  7. New Moti Bagh

  8. Sanjay Jheel in Lakshmi Bai Nagar

These venues have been selected for their accessibility and cultural relevance, offering a peaceful atmosphere for yoga practice.

To add to the experience, NDMC will live-stream the Prime Minister’s International Yoga Day message at all eight locations. Participants will receive yoga mats and specially branded T-shirts, and digital promotional materials will be displayed throughout the venues to boost awareness and engagement.

The theme of this year’s celebration revolves around reconnecting with traditional wellness practices and emphasizing yoga’s role in physical and mental well-being. Both the Delhi government and NDMC are working together to ensure that the event is inclusive, impactful, and resonates with people of all ages
