The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena ordered an inquiry against the people who are registering women for the Mahila Samman Yojana.
Under the Mahila Samman Yojana, the Chief Minister of Delhi, Atishi Marlena Singh, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced to give Rs 1000 to every female in Delhi above the age of 18 years. They further intend to raise the amount to Rs 2100 if AAP sins the Vidhan Sabha elections in 2025.
The LG order has been issued based on the complaint by former MP and Congress member Sandeep Dikshit who alleged that AAP members are going door to door and are making women sign some forms. Dikshit alleged this to be fraud being perpetrated by AAP and requested a high-level inquiry for the same.
LG has therefore instructed the Chief Secretary to conduct an inquiry through the Divisional Commissioner on the matter of the collection of personal details and forms by non-government people. The Commissioner of Police has also been asked to take against those who are breaching the privacy of gullible citizens by taking their personal details.
Additionally, LG has directed the Chief Secretary to bring this issue to the Election Commission’s attention since this is happening on the eve of the Vidhan Sabha elections.
Reacting to the order by LG, Kejriwal has claimed this inquiry order to be Bhartiya Janata Party’s tactic to stop the scheme. He professed that BJP has lost its cool because of this scheme and asserted that following the induction of the scheme he received calls from BJP member stating it to be the end of their winning prospects.
Kejriwal asserted, “If you vote, BJP has only one motive to stop Sanjeevani Yojana, Mohalla clinic, free education, free water and free bus”. He hinted that if the BJP comes to power then it will stop all these schemes. He proclaimed, “I want to tell the people of Delhi that if you vote for BJP, you will have to leave Delhi.” He added that the BJP will come to power not to give something but to snatch everything people have got till now.
Despite getting an inquiry ordered by LG against the registrations, Kejriwal claimed, “If you have faith in Kejriwal, then register in large numbers for Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana. I will see how does BJP stops all this!”
He alleged that the BJP is openly distributing money and buying votes further BJP took help from Congress to take down AAP since it did not have the courage to complain itself and therefore got the complaint done through Sandeep Dixit.
