Delhi: In a swift and coordinated operation, the Gandhi Nagar police in Shahdara district successfully apprehended two individuals accused of a daring daylight robbery that occurred in the busy Gandhi Nagar market area last month.
The incident, which involved a calculated snatching of a wallet from a local businessman, has been cracked with the recovery of the motorcycle used during the crime.
The Incident
On June 20, 2025, around 12:00 PM, Deepak Khurana, a resident of DDA Flats, Shahpur Jat, was on his way to his garment shop in Mahavir Gali, Gandhi Nagar.
While walking along Pusta Road and approaching Chhabra Fabric near Gurudwara Gali, he was deliberately bumped into by a man.
The suspect engaged Khurana in an argument, grabbed him forcefully, and snatched his wallet from his trouser pocket. The wallet reportedly contained ₹6,000–₹7,000 in cash along with some essential cards.
As the scuffle unfolded, another individual arrived on a black motorcycle (Registration No. DL 9858), and the two accused fled the scene swiftly on the bike.
